Which documentation to consult
Linoleum has a different composition from other resilient coverings. As a documented example, Forbo describes Marmoleum ingredients including linseed oil, resins, wood flour and a jute backing. The final construction varies between rolls, tiles and products with additional layers; always use the data sheet for the reference you intend to buy.
Do not turn ingredient origins into an automatic claim of harmlessness, durability or lower impact. If those criteria are part of your decision, request declarations and environmental documentation for the specific product, including their scope and date.
The substrate is part of the result
Ask about base preparation, permissible moisture, adhesive and junctions. Forbo publishes different instructions for various families and systems. A continuous surface in a photograph does not prove that any substrate can receive it directly.
Bring the installer a plan showing level changes, doors and use areas. Ask for the quote to describe preparation rather than only metres of material. Observe real samples in the room's light before confirming the colour.
Cleaning with a reference
Marmoleum's care documentation distinguishes the factory finish and maintenance methods. Do not remove or add treatments without checking compatibility. Keep the manual, reference and installation date with the authorised cleaning product.
