HOUSE ANGLE

Web accessibility

This page explains what we checked, which difficulties we know about and how to request help reading House Angle or using its features. Reviewing a sample cannot guarantee the same behaviour across the whole site.

What this statement covers

It concerns www.houseangle.com, its six languages and its editorial content, tools and services. The publisher is Merito Media LLC. The article category about accessible housing is separate from this statement about using the website.

The main functional sample, in Spanish, includes the home page, Kitchen category, a search for “cocina”, the article “Diseño y vida doméstica: de las imágenes al uso”, paint calculator, 2D planner, contact, sign-in, registration and newsletter. Menus, the language selector, expanded search, gallery dialog and cookie panel were also reviewed.

This statement is checked in all six languages for routes, declared language, structure, links and metadata. Interactions were reviewed mainly in Spanish; those findings do not extend to every translation or article. Checks do not cover the private editorial panel or every downloadable file.

Reference and review status

We do not have a complete evaluation establishing the site’s conformance level. We performed limited behaviour, code and application-test checks. These are not certification, an external audit or an evaluation involving people with disabilities.

We use WCAG 2.2 levels A and AA as a technical reference for this review, without claiming that every criterion has been met. Reference: WCAG 2.2 (W3C).

Measures verified in the sample

  • Page titles, a main heading and declared language, with section headings and named links on the examined pages.
  • A skip link that focuses the main content. Enter, Tab and Escape, closing and focus return were checked in desktop and mobile menus. Closing search and the cookie panel returns focus to their buttons.
  • Planner dialogs named through their headings and a labelled language selector. This does not provide an accessible alternative to drawing the plan.
  • This statement’s text adapts at widths of 320, 390 and 1280 pixels; text, links and focus were reviewed in light and dark themes. This does not check every site colour or state.
  • Contact has labels for name, email and message; submitting an empty form points to the first required field. Sign-in, registration and newsletter validation and confirmation outcomes are also checked through application tests with test data and email.

Known difficulties and alternatives

Observed barriers are distinguished from items not yet evaluated. No resolution dates have been committed for the following points.

Visual editing in the 2D planner

The plan is drawn and manipulated on a visual canvas. Its keyboard shortcuts do not provide an equivalent textual representation of elements and their relationships. The PNG export is an image of the plan.

Available alternative
Calculators let you work with numeric measurements. You can request help or an explanation by email; equivalent text-based plan editing is not available.
Status
Identified barrier; full canvas adaptation pending.

Generic descriptions on some photographs

In the sampled article “Diseño y vida doméstica: de las imágenes al uso”, the context image has a general description explaining its provenance without conveying the photograph’s visual details.

Available alternative
The article retains its written explanation and a table. Request an image description by identifying its page.
Status
Identified barrier; editorial review of these alternatives pending.

Server error messages

Some forms group errors at the top of the page without fully associating each message with its field. This can make it difficult to find what needs correcting, particularly with assistive technology.

Available alternative
Read the error summary and return to the named fields. If you cannot complete the form, use the editorial email.
Status
Identified barrier; individual association of all errors pending.

Spam checks and external components

ALTCHA protects contact, sign-in, registration and newsletter forms. Its complete screen-reader flow has not been evaluated. Neither has screen-reader interaction inside the Google map.

Available alternative
Email lets you report an issue without ALTCHA. The map address is also written on Contact, with a link to open it in Google Maps.
Status
Specific evaluation pending; tested compatibility is not claimed.

Content, resources and external services

The sample includes text, images and an HTML table with headings. Our bar-chart and timeline components include data in a table or list, checked in component tests; the suitability of every published resource has not been reviewed. Audio, video and all downloadable JSON or PNG files have not been evaluated, and captions, transcripts or accessible structure are not claimed.

Contact embeds Google Maps; references and some resources link to other sites. The written address is an alternative to the embedded map. Advertising, integrations and external destinations have not had an exhaustive evaluation. External origin does not automatically exclude responsibility.

How and where checks were performed

The integrated test browser on Windows was used. The tool does not provide a verifiable browser version. Desktop windows and reduced widths were reviewed; reduced widths simulate size and are not tests on physical phones.

The method combines visual observation, keyboard actions, document and exposed accessibility-tree inspection, code review, and automated Laravel and JavaScript tests. Submissions and confirmations use test email; this does not evaluate the complete real-world flow with assistive technology.

No screen reader, braille display or voice control was used, and no testing with users with disabilities was conducted. Browser zoom, combinations of browsers and assistive technologies, and the complete set of states need further evaluation.

Report a difficulty or request an alternative

Use editorial email, Contact or the publisher’s postal address. If possible, include:

  • The page address and what you were trying to do.
  • What happened and which device or browser you used.
  • Assistive technology, if relevant, and a useful response format or contact channel.

You do not need to prove a disability or disclose diagnoses or health data. Screenshots and hard-to-obtain technical information are not required.

Messages reach the House Angle editorial team. Review may require more information to reproduce the difficulty. If you request another format, available alternatives and how to provide them will be considered; immediate conversion of any resource is not guaranteed.

No editorial response deadline has been established. Individual assistance does not replace removing barriers or applicable rights and obligations.

Preparation and further review

This statement was prepared on 21 October 2026 through a limited internal review. This work corrected the skip-link destination, focus return and the dialog and selector names described above. A complete evaluation and review of remaining barriers are pending, with no announced audit schedule.

This information does not by itself determine compliance with applicable legal obligations. Editorial channels do not limit applicable complaint routes and are not presented as a specific administrative procedure.
