A board with direction
Plywood consists of veneers glued together with alternating orientations. Metsä Wood's documentation shows that species, composition, face direction and finish vary between products. The appearance of one face does not by itself describe the board's interior or performance.
When comparing for furniture, request the full name, thickness, quality of both faces and type of coating. Mark on the drawing which surfaces will be visible and which edges will remain exposed. An edge may be an aesthetic decision, but it also needs a planned finish and junction detail.
Define the use before cutting
A wardrobe front, shelf and wall lining raise different questions. Load and distance between supports must be checked for the specific piece; do not extrapolate strength from another thickness or a photograph. A bonding classification does not automatically make furniture suitable for remaining wet either.
Prepare a cutting layout that lets the manufacturer review orientation, joints and finishing details. Request a sample with the real finish if judging colour or feel.
Retain the information
Cleaning depends on the chosen coating: request instructions for the finished assembly, not only the base board. If swelling, separation of layers or edge damage appears, document the area and ask for advice before covering it.
This entry compares manufacturer documentation; it does not calculate shelving or certify a design. Keep the board and finish references so future replacement does not depend solely on remembering their appearance.
