Location and program
Casa Estudio Luis Barragán stands at numbers 12 and 14 General Francisco Ramírez, in Daniel Garza, Mexico City. The official tour describes a single facade for two programs: home and workshop. It distinguishes their entrances and places the library’s gridded window against the exterior concrete plane.
Dates and stewardship
The museum’s institutional introduction dates the ensemble to 1948 and states that it preserves the residence and studio of its author, who died in 1988. It identifies the Government of the State of Jalisco and the Fundación de Arquitectura Tapatía Luis Barragán as owners. In 2004 the property was inscribed on the World Heritage List.
Reading property and intervention
The restrained facade, yellow and orange planes and relationship with the street are described by the foundation. This entry records them as building components without assigning psychological effects or measurements. The related House Angle project proposes a reading of privacy and access. Keeping both entries separates the building’s history from the editorial questions it raises.
